Tourist

For this summer project i have so far done no research into designers and only applied myself to draw mind maps of ideas which doesnt seem to be getting me very far. Therefore today i decided to wonder into banstead and photograph various signs around the village all saying 'banstead' to send the message across of my home town. However while i was doing this i did feel a bit stupid as banstead is probably the last place you would go round photographing but then again i am doing something in opposition with myself. Hopefully i will end up getting somewhere. i am liking how these photos look.

Braille

I saw an image of the braille alphabet and thought it could be interesting to use in my project with the use of shapes creating type, sound and meaning. How could i break the barrier between those who regularly use braille and those who don't? perhaps i could take this further? not sure yet what to do....

playing around again....

Starting my Summer project

Finally i've started to think about my summer project. I find it quite daunting that this is the first uni project and want to make a good impression. The whole project is on living in opposition of yourself. The way i like to look at is breaking your own boundaries. Doing or forfilling something that you would never have thought you could do. As a starting point i've been looking at languages especially french due to my upcoming trip to Paris at the end of the month. How can i use and understand the language- teach the reader- break the boundary. Lets see how far i can go.. i was also interested in using photography and exploring/ being a tourist in my own town what can i find? watch this space.. Top picture of playing around on indesign with type and layout, however i would like to step away from the computer and try not to use it and make and explore with materials.
